The Status Quo
For 100 years, we’ve used carbon-based energy to power our global economy. In that time, we’ve emitted more than 1 Trillion tons of heat trapping gasses that continually warm our planet and cause harmful climate change.
To find solutions, we’ve relied on technology innovation. We’ve had 27 COP conferences and we’ve seen amazing technology breakthroughs. But we’re stuck in a troubling status quo. We get 20% of our energy from clean sources - the same as we did in 1990! Coal, oil, and gas still made up 77% of our global energy mix in 2022.
We Need Collective Power
To break the status quo, we need to engage more of humanity. We call this Social Innovation, and it enables us to use our collective power to create the abundant and inclusive future 8 billion people deserve.
Acting as a group is important because the power of any one of us may not be able to influence CEOs, politicians, or heads of state. But our collective power can.

Our collective power comes from two sources: one is social and the other is financial.
Our social power comes from a voice and a vote where the 99.9% of people traditionally excluded from climate discussions now play a leading role in defining and benefitting from a more abundant and inclusive climate future.
Our collective social power accelerates progress - and speed matters because every day of acceleration keeps 150 million tons of carbon gasses out of the atmosphere.

Our collective financial power comes from understanding that the majority of our $100 Trillion global economy is controlled by consumers - by us!
The Carbon Co directly links our $60 Trillion of annual spending to investments in verified projects that accelerate climate solutions.
The Company
People around the world want to make an impact. The problem is that we’re making it too hard. When people ask What Can I Do?, they’re overwhelmed with demands to stop traveling, to stop eating beef, to stop driving to work, and to stop living their lives. The result is that people are demotivated, they tune out, and they give up.
There’s a better way. The Carbon Co makes it simple for everyone to be part of solving climate change by simply doing what they already do.
Three components connect everything to positive climate impact:
Climate Action Tools: Our first climate action tool - The Carbon Card - is a credit card that sends 1% of each purchase to verified projects that help solve climate change. The price to the consumer is unchanged.
The Carbon Fund: The Carbon Fund is a nonprofit fund that invests contributions in a range of climate projects based on Speed, Scale, and Inclusion metrics. Any returns flow back into The Fund for additional investments.
The Carbon Crew: Our community is inspired and grows based on sharing stories and metrics that create the positive feedback loop missing throughout society.
The Zero-Carbon Payment Network (ØC)
The Carbon Card shows everyone how to link existing behaviors to positive climate impact. We scale impact with The Zero-Carbon (ØC) Payment Network by connecting all credit cards, debit cards, corporate cards, ticket purchases, airline miles, and custom programs to The Carbon Fund.
For each 10 million credit cards linked to The ØC Network, we send approximately $1 Billion annually to investments in climate solutions. With 3 billion card members around the world, this opportunity for impact is one of the largest on earth.
Investment Focus
Investments from The Carbon Fund focus on two areas that make the most significant climate impact: the transition to 100% carbon-free energy and nature based solutions.
Carbon-free energy is required for any path to a zero-emission future.
Nature based solutions can keep carbon gasses from entering the atmosphere, capture more carbon in our soils, and address the ongoing impacts of climate change.

To ensure real, measurable impact, Carbon Fund investments focus on three primary metrics:
Speed: projects that start to deliver results with 2 years
Scale: projects that deliver global scale or local impact others can learn from
Inclusion: projects that ensure we don’t continue marginalizing individuals or communities
